Q As it does every year, Fry's posted some of the best Black Friday deals for decidedly sought-after items get a bang TVs, laptops, high-tech remotes, etc., both for in-store sales as well as online starting at midnight Thanksgiving Day. Naturally, the deals apace sold out, and Fry's stopped irresistible additional orders. Customers who were propitious enough to successfully consider an sect got an e-mail confirmation. The problems started three days later when customers started receiving e-mail abrogation notices for many of the items they had bought.
Cancellations ranged from the $300 32-inch LG TV deal, to the Logitech Harmony 1100 and 900 remotes, to laptops, and even to free-after-rebate deals similar to batteries, etc. The voiding notices "apologized for the inconvenience" but offered no recourse. Fry' should have not allowed the garage sale of items beyond the inventory on hand. A simple-hearted "sold out" representation a substitute of a "buy now" button would have prevented this from happening.
So what do customers want? It's simple. Honor all deals that were acknowledged by Fry's e-mail scale acknowledgment way even if it takes some measure to fulfill the back-ordered item. Manu Chadha, Andrew Lam and a chuck of many A Done.
