Hate is never a gen too tough to paint the dissension between Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. But one could disagree that the fall out between the two business giants is bordering on childish, with each claiming to have the supervisor technology in the news lines of ultra-thin television sets. Light emitting diode (LED) is the goggle-box industry's buzzword at the moment, and the marketing wars between Samsung and LG have technology circles debating whose products better defend the higher expense tags.



And both companies are irascible about every word nudge thrown by the other. Through its advertising agency, Cheil Worldwide, Samsung recently submitted a compliant to the Korea Broadcasters Association (KBA), claiming that LG's boob tube commercials for its Xcanvas LED TVs unfairly report Samsung's competing models as inferior. The commercial shows a passenger car gliding up on a highway, with the voiceover reciting ''goodbye, LED that only lights boundaries. Welcome, evaluate filling, top LED.'' The unfolding ends with ''experience the contradistinction of fire in pictures, Xcanvas Full LED.'' The ''LED that only lights boundaries'' absolutely refers to Samsung's up-to-date box models, which are based on edge-lit LED lighting.






In comparison, LG's televisions are based on an LED to the point backlighting system, which makes the televisions a scarcely bulkier than Samsung products, but also enables better sharper pictures, followers officials claim. Samsung is audibly not too flattered about the arguments over draw quality, and accuses LG of attempting a defamation function to portray its technology as ''outdated.'' Samsung's irritation is understandable, but it's unclear what the band wants from KBA, which is a self-regulatory body and has no specialist to weigh and order TV advertisements. ''There is not much we can do. If Samsung wants a genuine change, they should require the affair to the Korea Communications Standards Commission,'' said a KBA representative.



Samsung and LG can polemic all they want in claiming that their LED models are better than the other's.
